Pina Baker ‘87 (Bennett College)
Coach Baker played collegiate ball at Bennett College in Greensboro and began her coaching career at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School (2000-06). She currently serves as the women’s varsity head coach at Enloe High School.

     
     
 

Bruce Loyd
For the past 17 years, Bruce Loyd has been involved in directing, organizing and coaching basketball camps. He has worked with former NBA greats Dale Ellis, Derrick McKey, Doug Christie, UNC alumnus Kenny Smith ’87 and NBA head coaches Avery Johnson and Nate McMillan. His love and patience with kids displays his desire to teach the game the right way. His passion for remaining in this business is to create fundamentally sound basketball players. Bruce currently resides in Seattle, WA where he continues to facilitate individual training and career counseling to basketball players.

     
     
 

Derrick Phelps ’94
An honorable mention Associated Press All-America in 1994, Derrick is the only player in ACC history to record 400 rebounds, 200 steals and 600 assists in his career. While shutting down opponent’s shooters and a solid decision maker as a point guard, he was a vital contributor during the 1993 NCAA Championship season. He graduated from Carolina in 1994 and currently is the assistant coach at his old high school, Christ the King Regional High School in New York.

     
 

Brian Reese ’94
A starting member on Carolina’s 1993 National Championship squad, Brian graduated from UNC in 1994 and played 8 years of professional basketball overseas.  Each summer he would return to the states to coach at various summer basketball camps.  He currently serves as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Porter Ridge High School in Indian Trail, NC.

     
     
 

Ranzino Smith ’88
A spot player as a freshman, Ranzino Smith developed into a solid performer during his four year career. A lefthander, with an excellent shooting touch, he struck fear into the hearts of zone defenses. He was also Dean Smith’s first recruit from Chapel Hill. He graduated from Carolina in 1988.

     
     
 

Donald Williams ’95
One of Carolina’s sharpest shooting point/off guards in Tar Heel history. He led the 1993 Tar Heels to Carolina’s 3rd national championship. Scoring 25 points in both the semifinal and final, he was named Most Outstanding Player during the 1993 NCAA tournament.  He was highly effective as a shooting guard but could also effectively play the point guard position. He graduated from Carolina in 1995.
